Al Ahly seek strong start against Stade d’Abidjan in Champions League clash

Al Ahly, reigning CAF Champions League champions, will face Stade d’Abidjan in a Group C encounter on Tuesday at Cairo International Stadium. The match is set for a 6:00 pm CAT kickoff.

The Red Eagles enter the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Al-Ittihad in the Egyptian Premier League, extending their unbeaten streak to nine matches across all competitions.

Al Ahly boast an impressive home record in the Champions League, remaining undefeated in their last 15 games, including five consecutive wins.

Meanwhile, Stade d’Abidjan, returning to the Champions League for the first time since their 1966 triumph, come into the game following a goalless draw with Stella in the Ivorian Ligue 1.

The Ivorian side secured an away win over Teungueth FC earlier in the qualifiers but later fell to Guinea’s Milo.

This marks the first-ever meeting between the two teams in the competition, with Al Ahly aiming to build on their stellar home form and Stade d’Abidjan seeking to defy expectations.
