Officials at Al Ahly are on the verge of finalizing a deal to bring in Danish-born Palestinian striker, Wisam Abu Ali, who plies his trade in the Swedish league.
The signing is set to bolster the ranks of the club’s first football team during the winter transfer window in January 2024.
According to information obtained by “Al Watan Sport,” Al Ahly presented a financial offer reaching $1.1 million earlier.
However, the management of Sirius, the Swedish club, insisted on increasing the financial compensation to $1.6 million, equivalent to £50 million, especially after receiving a competing offer from another club amounting to $1.4 million.
In the same context, officials at Al Ahly have successfully secured the online signature of Wisam Abu Ali after reaching an agreement on all contractual details.
The player has committed to a 4-year contract, earning an annual salary close to $1 million.
It is expected that Wisam Abu Ali will undergo a medical examination upon his arrival in Cairo to finalize the contract between the two parties.
Al Ahly awaits the player’s international card and the formal release from his Swedish club as soon as their offer is accepted.
This high-profile signing reflects Al Ahly’s strategic approach to strengthening their squad with international talent, and Wisam Abu Ali’s unique background adds diversity and skill to the team.
The £50 million deal demonstrates the club’s commitment to investing in top-tier players as they aim for continued success in domestic and international competitions.
