Al Ahly have completed the signing of right-back Ahmed Eid from Al Masry on a four-and-a-half-year contract, adding fresh energy to the right flank in the winter transfer window.
The Cairo giants reached a full agreement with Al Masry to buy out the remainder of the 25-year-old’s deal.
Eid underwent his medical on Monday after returning from Morocco with the Egypt national team, and is expected to join Al Ahly training in the coming hours. The defender actually started his youth career at Al Ahly before leaving in 2015 to join Zamalek’s academy, where he was promoted to the first team in 2020. He later spent loan spells at Ismaily and ENPPI before moving permanently to Al Masry in the summer of 2023.
With Al Masry, Eid played 39 matches and provided 2 assists, while he also made 22 appearances for Zamalek, registering 1 assist. Internationally, he featured for Egypt at the U23 Africa Cup of Nations, finishing as runner-up, and then appeared at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Eid becomes Al Ahly’s fourth winter signing after Moroccan left-back Youssef Belamri from Raja Casablanca, striker Marwan Osman from Ceramica Cleopatra and defender Amr El-Gazzar from National Bank of Egypt.
At the same time, Al Ahly have submitted a final offer to sign Petrojet centre-back Hady Riyad, proposing 25 million Egyptian pounds plus the loan of a youth-team player until the end of the season, after Petrojet initially demanded 40 million.
