Al Ahly reveals absentees for AS FAR clash in Morocco
Al Ahly’s coaching team has ruled out nine players from their upcoming match against Morocco’s AS FAR in the African Champions League, set for Friday.
Among those missing is star goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy, who’s recovering from a muscle injury, and winger Hussein El-Shahat, who continues his comeback from a recent setback. The list of absentees also includes Mohamed Abdallah, Omar Kamal, Jardishar, Ahmed Abdelkader, Mostafa El-Ash, Hamza Alaa, and Ahmed Abdeen.
The squad traveling to Morocco features names like Mohamed Siha, Mostafa Shobeir, Yassin Marai, Ahmed Ramadan Beckham, Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan, Yasser Ibrahim, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, Mohamed Sherif, Marwan Attia, Achraf Bencharki, Mohamed Magdy Afsha, Emam Ashour, Aliou Dieng, Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Karim Fouad, Taher Mohamed Taher, Mohamed Hani, Ahmed Nabil Kouka, Hamza Abdelkarim, Ahmed Reda, and Achraf Dari.
Medical updates from team doctor Ahmed Gaballah confirm that El-Shahat is gradually returning to team training and El-Shenawy has started his physiotherapy protocol. Defender Mostafa El-Ash left the hospital after tests showed his condition was stable.
The team finished its final practice in Cairo before the journey, as coach Jess Thorup outlined tactical plans for the crucial away fixture.
