Al Ahly finally found relief at Cairo Stadium on Friday evening, securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ceramica Cleopatra in the seventh round of the Egyptian Premier League.

The win brought joy back to the Red Devils, who had gone winless since their triumph over Pharco in mid-August.

The decisive moment came in the 27th minute when Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet unleashed a brilliant shot that beat Mohamed Bassam and lifted spirits inside the stadium. His goal carried more weight than just points, restoring belief to a side led by interim coach Emad El-Nahhas.

Al Ahly began the game with urgency, pressing Ceramica’s defense and forcing Bassam into several early saves. Despite strong appeals for penalties from both sides, referee Mahmoud Wafa waved them away, sparking protests.

Ceramica threatened through quick counterattacks, but their finishing lacked sharpness. The Red Devils, meanwhile, created more chances, with Achraf Bencharki and Taher involved in key moves.

As the match wore on, Al Ahly’s experienced backline held firm, ensuring Trezeguet’s strike remained enough to secure a precious win that lifts them to ninth place with nine points.
