Al Ahly retain Tunisian winger Mohamed Al-Dhaoui Christo until January transfer window

Al Ahly have decided to retain Tunisian winger Mohamed Al-Dhaoui Christo until the January transfer window after failing to receive any suitable offers for the player.

The Egyptian giants had been looking to find a new destination for the 22-year-old during the current transfer window, but no professional offers have arrived for the Tunisian international.

As a result, Al Ahly have opted to keep Christo under contract until January while continuing to pay his salary regularly, despite the player’s absence from the club’s domestic and African squad lists.

The decision is also aimed at ensuring that the club does not accumulate any outstanding payments that could lead to a financial dispute with the player.

Christo’s situation has been further complicated by an injury that required surgery. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation at Al Ahly and is expected to need around another month and a half before he can return to competitive action.

Al Ahly removed his name from their domestic and CAF squad lists after reaching the limit for foreign players, meaning he is currently unable to feature for the first team.

However, the Tunisian remains contracted to the Cairo giants and continues to recover at the club while his future is assessed.

Al Ahly are expected to reconsider their options in January, when they could look for a new club for Christo or negotiate a possible termination of his contract.

For now, the winger will remain at Al Ahly as he focuses on his recovery and attempts to regain full fitness ahead of the January transfer window.
