Al Ahly to part ways with Ashraf Dari

Al Ahly are prepared to part ways with Moroccan defender Ashraf Dari during the upcoming summer transfer window after an injury-hit spell at the club.

The 26-year-old centre-back has reportedly been informed by the Cairo giants to explore options ahead of next season as the club considers reshaping its defensive department.

Dari has struggled to establish himself since joining Al Ahly from French side Brest in 2024, with recurring injuries limiting his impact at the club. Despite arriving with high expectations, the Moroccan international managed only 26 appearances for the Red Devils and failed to register a goal or assist during his time in Cairo.

The defender is currently spending the remainder of the season on loan at Swedish outfit Kalmar, with his future at Al Ahly now appearing increasingly uncertain.

Club officials are understood to believe that Dari’s persistent fitness problems have made it difficult for him to secure a regular role in the squad, prompting the decision to consider offers for the player this summer.

Although his contract with Al Ahly runs until 2028, the Egyptian champions are open to negotiations should a suitable proposal arrive in the transfer market.

Dari’s expected departure would mark the end of a disappointing chapter for both player and club, with injuries preventing the Moroccan defender from fully showcasing the qualities that convinced Al Ahly to sign him two years ago.
