Al Ahly ready to foot bill for foreign referees for Zamalek showdown

Al Ahly are ready to foot the bill for foreign referees to officiate their highly anticipated Egyptian Premier League showdown against rivals Zamalek.

The Red Devils have intensified efforts to secure a foreign refereeing team for the derby, with the club already submitting an official request to the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) for foreign officials to take charge of the encounter.

According to reports, Al Ahly have asked the Football Association to determine the cost of bringing in the foreign referees, with the club prepared to cover the expenses in line with the competition regulations.

The Egyptian giants have also proposed that the cost be deducted from the outstanding financial dues owed to the club by the Football Association.

The request forms part of Al Ahly’s efforts to finalize all the necessary arrangements ahead of the summit clash, which is scheduled for October 11 as part of the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League.

Al Ahly are keen to settle the refereeing issue well before the much-anticipated encounter as preparations continue for the meeting with their Cairo rivals.

The derby is expected to attract significant attention as both sides continue their respective campaigns in the Egyptian top flight.
