Al Ahly reach agreement with Yasser Ibrahim on new contract

Al Ahly defender Yasser Ibrahim has agreed personal terms with the club on a contract extension, with the deal expected to be signed and announced officially next week.

Ibrahim’s current contract expires at the end of the 2026-27 season, but an agreement has now been reached covering all of the personal terms of his renewal, according to FilGoal.com.

The 31-year-old has also been promised that Al Ahly will allow him to move abroad next summer if he receives a suitable offer, FilGoal.com understands.

Al Ahly previously offered Ibrahim a two-year extension with financial terms that would place him in the club’s first category of earners. The proposal includes an annual salary of 25 million Egyptian pounds, plus a further 10 million Egyptian pounds linked to winning trophies.

The offer would also give Ibrahim 70% of any advertising income generated through his image rights, while Al Ahly would receive the remaining 30%. That arrangement is conditional on any advertising deal not conflicting with the club’s sponsors.

Al Ahly rejected an approach from Saudi Arabian club Al Shabab to sign Ibrahim at the beginning of this season.

The defender has been an important part of the team’s early league campaign and scored a late winner in Al Ahly’s 1-0 victory over Smouha in the third round.

Al Ahly began the season with a 3-2 win against Eastern Company Enppi before beating ZED FC 2-0. They then secured the narrow victory over Smouha through Ibrahim’s decisive goal.

In their most recent match, Al Ahly drew 1-1 with Al Mokawloon Al Arab.

The club have already renewed the contracts of Emam Ashour, Marwan Attia, Mostafa Shobeir and Karim El Debes. With Ibrahim’s agreement now in place, the remaining step will be the formal signing of the documents during next week’s meeting.
