Al Ahly has stepped up its response to long-standing provocations by former player Mostafa Younes, taking the matter down legal, media, and internal club paths.
The club says Younes has continuously made insulting remarks about President Mahmoud El-Khatib and board members for over five years.
The issue reached the Supreme Council for Media Regulation after Dr. Saad Shalaby, Al Ahly’s executive director, submitted an official complaint. The club included video evidence from Younes’s YouTube channel and television appearances in which he allegedly attacked the club’s leadership.
The Council’s Complaints Committee, led by media figure Essam Al-Amir, is now reviewing the evidence. Al Ahly also lodged a separate complaint with the judicial authorities.
Inside the club, a disciplinary committee was formed and independent judges appointed to investigate. A club source told Kooora that Younes was summoned but failed to appear. A second summons has been issued.
“If he does not respond after the third notice, his case will be referred to the General Assembly,” the source confirmed, hinting at possible revocation of his club membership.
