Al Ahly press conference cancelled after five-goal win over Asyut Petroleum

The post-match press conference involving Al Ahly head coach Hussein Ammouta was cancelled after no journalists attended following the team’s 5-0 victory over Asyut Petroleum in the opening round of the Egypt Capital Cup.

The decision was taken by the match observer, who had been responsible for overseeing the media duties after the game.

Mohamed Magdy “Afsha”, Sofiane Benjedida and Omar Moawad were all on the scoresheet for Al Ahly, while Hussein El Shahat scored twice.

The result was Al Ahly’s biggest victory in their history of competing in the Egypt Capital Cup. It was also their third win in the competition, following two victories over Ceramica Cleopatra and Pharco last season.

Al Ahly and Asyut Petroleum are in Group C alongside Al Mokawloon Al Arab, El Sharqia, ENPPI and El Gouna.

Al Ahly’s next fixture is a league meeting with Zamalek on Sunday at Cairo Stadium.
