The technical team of Al Ahly, led by head coach Jose Ribeiro, has given the team’s players 18 days to rest before commencing pre-season training for the 2025/26 football season.
The decision has been confirmed by the Egyptian giants in an official club statement on their website.
“The club’s first football team’s technical staff has decided to give the players an 18-day break from training, following their participation in the Club World Cup in the United States.
“The players are expected to get enough rest before returning to training and beginning their pre-season preparations, especially since the team did not get a break following the end of the league season due to preparations for the Club World Cup,” the club announced on Tuesday.
The Al Ahly team that participated in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup have returned to Egypt today following their exit from the tournament after finishing fourth in Group A.
At the tournament, Al Ahly drew goalless with Inter Miami in their first match, lost 2-0 to Palmeiras in their second game, before drawing 4-4 in a pulsating clash against Porto in their last group game.
