Al Ahly new signing Mahmoud Salah sends important message to fans

New Al Ahly signing Mahmoud Salah has expressed his delight after joining the Egyptian giants ahead of the new season.

Salah penned a five-year deal to the record Champions League holders from fellow Egyptian outfit Ghazl El Mahalla.

Speaking after his unveiling, the midfielder revealed his excitement at completing the move and described joining the Red Castle as the fulfilment of a major ambition for both himself and his family.

Salah admitted that he was delighted simply to hear that Al Ahly had opened negotiations for his signature, before eventually seeing the transfer become a reality.

“My transfer represents my ambition and my family’s desire. God willing, I will be able to offer something to Al Ahly Club.”

The new signing also acknowledged the intense competition he will face within an Al Ahly squad packed with quality players.

“I was happy just hearing about the negotiations on Al Ahly’s side. The competition in the team will be tough with the presence of distinguished players.”

Despite the challenge ahead, Salah appears determined to embrace the competition and prove himself at one of Africa’s biggest clubs.

The 25-year-old also reflected on the significance of visiting Al Ahly’s iconic training ground, Mokhtar El-Tetsh Stadium, describing the moment as a historic one in his career.

“My presence at Mokhtar El-Tetsh Stadium and Al Ahly Club is a historic thing for me.”

Salah concluded his first message to the club’s supporters by promising to give his maximum effort in the famous red shirt.

“My message to Al Ahly fans is that I will give everything for the team. I will fight with the rest of the players in the team to achieve all the championships in the new season.”

The five-year agreement underlines Al Ahly’s confidence in Salah’s potential and gives the player an opportunity to establish himself at the highest level of Egyptian and African football.

After making the switch from Ghazl El Mahalla, Salah will now face the challenge of adapting to the expectations that come with representing Al Ahly.
