Al Ahly name Zizo in midfield as Taher leads attack against Eastern Company Enppi

Al Ahly manager Hussein Ammouta has named his starting XI for the club’s meeting with Eastern Company Enppi, the final match of the opening round of the Egyptian Premier League.

The game is scheduled to begin at 20:00 at Cairo International Stadium, with Al Ahly turning to Ahmed Sayed “Zizo” in midfield and Karim Fouad at left-back.

Taher Mohamed Taher will lead the attack, supported by Algerian forward Monsef Bakrar and Moroccan attacker Achraf Bencharki.

Mostafa Shobeir starts in goal, while Mohamed Hany, Hady Riad, Amr Elgazar and Fouad form the defensive line.

A midfield trio of Ahmed Nabil “Kouka”, Marwan Attia and Zizo will operate behind the front three.

Al Ahly’s starting line-up is:

Mohamed El Shenawy is among the substitutes, alongside Yasser Ibrahim, Sofiane Benjdida, Akram Tawfik, Hussein El Shahat, Mohamed Magdy “Afsha”, Ali Mahmoud, Oktay Abdullah and Karim El Debes.

The match completes the first round of league fixtures. Al Ahly will be looking to begin its campaign with a positive result after the opening round produced four winning teams at the top of the standings.

Pyramids FC, Al Masry, Tala’ea El Gaish and Abu Qair Semad have all taken three points and currently lead the table after victories in their first matches.
