Al Ahly moves to restructure football committee amid club overhaul
Al-Ahly Club is reportedly planning to dissolve its current planning committee and replace it with a newly formed football committee, part of a broader restructuring effort in the wake of the team’s CAF Champions League exit.
A source within the club has revealed that the new football committee will consist of five members and operate under the supervision of club president Mahmoud Al-Khatib. The proposed lineup includes:
- Mahmoud Al-Khatib, President of Al-Ahly
- Yassin Mansour, Vice President and Board Representative
- Sayed Abdel Hafeez, Board Member
- Ahmed Hossam Awad, representing Al Ahly Company
- One former footballer, yet to be selected
The committee itself will not have a dedicated head. Instead, Mansour and Abdel Hafeez—who oversee the club’s football operations—will guide decision-making.
This move is seen as part of a wider revamp of Al-Ahly’s football sector, with official announcements expected in the coming hours or by the end of the season at the latest.
