Al Ahly moves to protect position in Ahmed Abdelkader dispute
Al Ahly has acted to protect its stance in the growing dispute with winger Ahmed Abdelkader, who recently turned down offers to leave the club.
The winger had been sidelined from training, prompting his agent to hint at a possible FIFA complaint.
A club source told Kooora that Al Ahly sought legal advice from a Court of Arbitration for Sport expert to ensure compliance with regulations. “The most important thing is for the player to train at the same time and place as the team he is registered with,” the source said, confirming Abdelkader’s training now aligns with the squad at El-Tetch Stadium.
The advice stressed the need to inform Abdelkader of each session one day in advance, either via WhatsApp or individually, to prove he was not denied training opportunities.
The source noted that Al Ahly had not acted against Abdelkader, despite being aware of his agreement with Zamalek, and even welcomed the official offer made for his services.
