Al Ahly move to appoint Tunisian coach Anis Boujelbane as head of scouting committee
Al Ahly have reportedly begun serious steps toward appointing Tunisian coach Anis Boujelbane as the club’s new scouting committee director as part of an ongoing restructuring project within the football sector.
The Egyptian giants are keen to bring Boujelbane to the Red Castle to oversee the club’s talent identification and recruitment system ahead of a new phase focused on strengthening the scouting department with modern technical and analytical expertise.
Meanwhile, Boujelbane has yet to open negotiations with the Tunisian Football Federation to terminate his current role as coach of Tunisia’s Olympic national team. However, discussions regarding his future are expected to begin in the coming days.
The Tunisian tactician is reportedly set to meet with federation officials soon in an attempt to reach a final agreement concerning a possible move to Al Ahly.
Boujelbane remains under contract with the Tunisian Football Federation until June 2028, and his current deal reportedly does not contain a release or penalty clause that would allow him to leave immediately.
Despite this, there is said to be a willingness within the Tunisian Federation to resolve the matter amicably should the coach insist on taking up the new challenge in Egypt.
Al Ahly’s interest in Boujelbane reflects the club’s broader strategy to modernize its football operations and enhance its player recruitment structure as the Cairo-based side continues preparations for the future.
The scouting committee role has become increasingly important within top African and international clubs, with Al Ahly aiming to build a more advanced system capable of identifying elite talent locally and abroad.
Boujelbane’s name has gained significant traction in recent days following positive discussions between both parties regarding the vision and objectives for the next stage of the club’s development.
Should the move materialize, the Tunisian coach would become one of the key figures behind Al Ahly’s long-term sporting project as the club seeks continued dominance on both domestic and continental fronts.
