Al Ahly, Manchester City and Bayern Munich headline Friday’s football schedule

Al Ahly begin their latest Egyptian Premier League assignment against ZED FC on Friday, while Manchester City open the second round of the Premier League away to Crystal Palace and defending Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich start their title defence against Stuttgart.

The Egyptian top-flight schedule describes the Al Ahly game as one of three league matches being played on Friday, although four fixtures are listed. Al Ahly’s meeting with ZED FC is scheduled for 20:00 and will be shown on On Sport.

Also in Egypt, Al Ittihad Alexandria face Ceramica Cleopatra at 20:00, with coverage on On Sport Max. Eastern Company meet ENPPI in a 17:00 kick-off, while El Qanah play El Gouna at the same time. The latter two matches will be broadcast on On Sport Max and On Sport Plus respectively.

The programme features several of Europe’s leading clubs, with Manchester City travelling to Crystal Palace as the second Premier League round begins. Their match is due to start at 22:00 and will be shown on beIN Sports HD 2.

Bayern Munich, the reigning German champions, begin their Bundesliga campaign at home to Stuttgart. That match is scheduled for 21:30 and will be broadcast on MBC Action.

In Italy, AC Milan play Venezia at 21:45, with the match available through the Starzplay application. Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain visit Lille in France, also at 21:45, in a match to be shown on beIN Sports HD 1.

Saudi Pro League

The Saudi Pro League also provides two of the day’s fixtures. Al Riyadh, who have Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet in their squad, face newly promoted Neom at 18:50. Al Khaleej meet Al Hilal at 21:00, with both games scheduled to be shown on Thmanyah.

Trezeguet is therefore involved in one of the notable domestic fixtures outside Europe, with Al Riyadh taking on Neom in the fourth round of the Saudi Pro League.

The day’s schedule is completed by a Saudi Professional League fixture between WE and Ismaily, which kicks off at 16:30. No broadcaster is specified for that match.

All times listed are local to the source schedule. The full set of matches for Friday, 28 August, includes fixtures from Egypt, England, Italy, Germany, France and Saudi Arabia, with Al Ahly, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Al Hilal among the most prominent clubs in action.
