Emam Ashour could move ro Turkey

Turkish club Konyaspor remain determined to sign Egypt midfielder Emam Ashour from Al Ahly, with negotiations reportedly moving closer to an agreement during the current transfer window.

The Turkish side are looking to use their final foreign-player slot on the 28-year-old midfielder, who has emerged as their leading target this summer.

Konyaspor refuse to give up on Ashour

According to Turkish network Yeni Haber, talks between Konyaspor and Al Ahly have yet to produce a final agreement, but the Turkish club have not abandoned their pursuit of the Egyptian international.

Al Ahly initially valued Ashour at $8m plus additional incentives, but have since reduced their demands.

The transfer is now expected to be completed for around $7.5m, although the two clubs are still working on the final details.

Konyaspor remain hopeful of reaching an agreement and securing Ashour before the transfer window closes.

Ashour established himself at Al Ahly

Ashour joined Al Ahly from Danish club Midtjylland and has gone on to establish himself as one of the club’s leading midfielders.

His performances have also earned him an important role with the Egypt national team, including during the 2026 World Cup.

A move to Turkey would give Ashour an opportunity to continue his career in Europe after his previous spell with Midtjylland.

Potential Egyptian showdown in Turkey

A transfer to Konyaspor could also create the possibility of an intriguing meeting between two prominent Egypt internationals in the Turkish league.

Egyptian football legend Mohamed Salah has already joined Trabzonspor during the current transfer window.

Should Ashour complete his move to Konyaspor, the two Pharaohs stars could find themselves facing each other on Turkish soil.
