Al Ahly intensify pursuit of Al Masry duo Abdel Rahim Daghmoum and Mohamed Makhlouf
Al Ahly have stepped up their efforts to sign Al Masry duo of Abdel Rahim Daghmoum and Mohamed Makhlouf in the current transfer window.
Following an inconsistent performance that saw Al Ahly miss out on CAF Champions League qualification, the Egyptian giants has set sights on augmenting their squad for the upcoming campaign, with Daghmoum and Makhlouf emerging as priority target.
The growing interest from the Red Devils comes after the technical staff identified several positions that require reinforcement before the start of the upcoming campaign, especially with the club preparing for domestic and continental competitions.
According to reports, Al Ahly recently contacted Al Masry to inquire about the availability of Mohamed Makhlouf while also discussing the situation of Algerian attacker Abdel Rahim Daghmoum, who has attracted attention with his recent performances.
Although talks are still in the early stages, discussions between the two clubs have reportedly included more than one scenario, including the possibility of a swap deal involving players from Al Ahly moving to the Port Said club.
Al Masry are said to be open to discussing offers for the duo, but club officials reportedly want strong technical compensation if they are to approve the departure of two important players before the new season begins.
Daghmoum has emerged as one of the standout names on Al Ahly’s transfer shortlist after impressing with his creativity, attacking movement and ability to influence matches in the final third.
Meanwhile, Makhlouf is also viewed as a valuable option capable of strengthening the team’s midfield depth due to his versatility and consistent performances.
Despite the increasing negotiations, sources insist that no official agreement has been reached yet, with discussions currently focused on understanding the financial demands and technical conditions required to complete the transfers.
Al Masry could request the inclusion of more than one Al Ahly player if negotiations advance toward a swap arrangement. However, the names being linked with a possible move remain under discussion and no final decision has been made.
The situation is expected to develop further in the coming days as Al Ahly continue evaluating their squad needs while waiting for the technical staff’s final approval before submitting any official offers.
With both clubs aiming to strengthen their teams ahead of a demanding new season, negotiations between Al Ahly and Al Masry are likely to remain one of the major talking points in the Egyptian transfer market.
