Al Ahly SC has chosen to delay youth striker Hamza Abdel Karim’s planned trial with Bayern Munich, placing the team’s immediate needs above the opportunity.
Despite receiving an official invitation from the German giants for the 2008-born talent to attend a trial, Al Ahly decided to keep Hamza with the squad for their ongoing preparations.
Sporting Director Mohamed Youssef confirmed the invitation during a TV interview, highlighting Bayern’s interest in the promising youngster. However, the club’s internal priorities shifted.
An Al Ahly source told Kooora, “Despite the prior approval, coach Jose Ribeiro insisted on keeping Hamza Abdel Karim at least during the foreign training camp, after Wissam Abu Ali’s imminent departure.”
The young forward has already joined the squad in Tunisia for the camp.
The source added, “Al-Ahly intends to apologize to Bayern Munich, given its need for Hamza Abdelkarim’s efforts next season.”
