Al Ahly are once again facing difficult times with injuries in defense as key defender Ahmed Ramadan Beckham is now a doubt for the upcoming clash with rivals Zamalek on September 29 in the Egyptian Premier League.

Beckham pulled up during Friday’s game against Ceramica Cleopatra, clutching his leg before being replaced in the 61st minute by Mostafa El-Ash. The sight left many Al Ahly supporters worried, as the defender has been a steady presence at the back this season.

Early signs suggest he has pain in his hamstring and will undergo medical scans in the coming hours to know how serious the setback is and how long he might be away from the pitch.

The injury comes at a bad time for Al Ahly, who are already without Moroccan defender Achraf Dari after he was hurt against Pyramids. The squad also has concerns over Ahmed Mostafa Zizo, struggling with an adductor problem, while midfielder Imam Ashour remains out with a stomach virus.
