Al-Ahly eye El Mahalla teenage winger Mahmoud Salah

Egyptian winger Mahmoud Salah is being linked with a move from El Mahalla to Libyan Premier League club Al-Ahly.

Salah, 18, joined El Mahalla’s senior squad from the club’s under-19 side in July 2025 and has a contract running until 30 June 2029. The reported interest comes after a season in which he played in both Egypt’s top flight and the relegation play-off.

The left winger made 12 appearances in the relegation play-off, scoring three goals and providing three assists. He also featured 11 times in the Premier League, scoring once, while making additional appearances in the Egyptian League Cup and Egypt Cup.

Salah’s current market value is listed at €350,000, although no transfer fee has been reported in connection with the rumour. He is a right-footed attacker whose senior career has so far been spent entirely with El Mahalla.

The proposed move would take him from the Egyptian Premier League to Libya’s top division, with Al-Ahly emerging as the club linked with his signature. Salah remains under contract at El Mahalla, where he has been registered since the start of the 2025-26 campaign.
