Al Ahly extend Taher Mohamed Taher’s contract until 2029
Egyptian giants Al Ahly have secured the future of winger Taher Mohamed Taher after extending his contract by two years, keeping the versatile attacker at the club until 2029.
The Cairo-based club confirmed that the new agreement will see the 29-year-old remain with the Red Devils for an additional three seasons as they continue to rely on his experience and versatility.
Speaking after signing the extension, Taher expressed his appreciation to the club and its supporters, while pledging to continue contributing to Ahly’s success.
“I am grateful to the club and the supporters, to whom I owe a great deal. I will continue to give my best alongside my teammates to bring joy to the fans and help the club win the trophies and victories befitting Ahly’s stature,” he said, as quoted on the club’s official website.
Taher has become an important squad member since joining Al Ahly from Arab Contractors in July 2020. Although he has not always been a guaranteed starter, his ability to operate on either wing or through the centre has made him a valuable option for the team.
The forward has made 213 appearances across all competitions for Ahly, scoring 26 goals and registering 27 assists.
During his time at the club, Taher has enjoyed remarkable success, winning 17 trophies, including three CAF Champions League titles, three Egyptian Premier League championships, and two CAF Super Cup trophies.
