Marwan Attia extends Al Ahly contract

Egyptian giants Al Ahly have renewed the contract of midfielder Marwan Attia ahead of the 2026/27 football campaign.

The 28-year-old penned a contract that will keep him at the Egyptian giants until 2030 and is expected to play a huge role for the team this season.

The administrative and financial procedures were completed in coordination with football director Wael Gomaa, paving the way for Attia to sign the extension.

The midfielder expressed his delight at committing his future to Al Ahly and continuing his career with the club and its supporters.

Attia’s previous contract was due to expire in June 2029, meaning the new agreement extends his stay by an additional year.

The midfielder joined Al Ahly in January 2023 from Al Ittihad Alexandria and has since established himself as an important member of the squad.

He has made 153 appearances, scoring four goals and providing four assists during his time with the club.

Attia has also enjoyed considerable success since his arrival, winning 12 trophies with Al Ahly over three and a half seasons.

His renewal is another indication of the club’s desire to retain its key players amid interest and offers from clubs during the current summer transfer window.
