Al Ahly extend Karim El Debes contract until 2030

Al Ahly have extended the contract of left-back Karim El Debes until 2030, continuing a series of renewals for players at the Egyptian club.

The 23-year-old has signed a one-year extension to his existing agreement, which had been due to expire in 2029.

El Debes’ new contract was confirmed as Al Ahly also work to secure the futures of several other members of their squad. The club recently renewed the contracts of Emam Ashour, Marwan Attia and Mostafa Shobeir.

In a statement, Al Ahly said: “Karim El Debes, the first-team football player, has extended his contract with the club until 2030.”

The club added that Essam Serag El Din, head of its contracts department, had completed all the administrative and financial procedures in full co-ordination with football director Wael Gomaa.

El Debes returns after loan spell

El Debes spent last season on loan at Ceramica Cleopatra before returning to Al Ahly.

He joined Al Ahly from Wadi Degla in 2022 and has made 37 appearances for the club since his arrival. During that time, he has provided five assists and helped the team win six trophies.

The left-back’s most recent campaign was spent with Ceramica Cleopatra, for whom he played 20 matches without registering a goal or an assist.

After returning to Al Ahly, El Debes has so far been limited to 28 minutes of playing time under head coach Hussein Ammouta.

The contract renewal gives Al Ahly a longer-term agreement with a player who remains part of their first-team group, despite having spent the previous season away from the club on loan. It also forms part of the club’s wider activity in extending the contracts of key players.

El Debes initially joined Al Ahly after developing at Wadi Degla and has remained with the club since 2022, apart from his loan spell at Ceramica Cleopatra. His new deal now keeps him tied to Al Ahly through the end of the 2029-30 season.

Al Ahly’s latest announcement focused on the completion of the agreement and the administrative and financial work behind it. The club did not provide further details about the terms of the renewed contract.
