Egyptian outfit Al Ahly have ended their pursuit for Algerian forward Baghdad Bounedjah.
Bounedjah, who plies his trade for Qatari side Al-Shamal has been on the radar of the record CAF Champions League holders.
However, Al Ahly are said to have halted chase for the enterprising Algerian attacker over Al Shamal’s reluctance to sanction the move.
Having ended chase for the Algerian, Al Ahly intends to sign a striker and a winger in the ongoing January transfer window to strengthen their attacking department.
Bounedjah has been impressive for Al Shamal in the ongoing campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing 6 assists in 11 appearances.
The 33-year-old’s current contract with the Qatari club is expected to elapse in the summer of 2027.
