Al Ahly pulled off a dramatic 3-2 win over Haras El Hodoud at the Military College Stadium in Cairo on Tuesday night, keeping their momentum alive in the Egyptian Premier League.

The victory gave coach Emad El Nahhas his second straight triumph and lifted the Red Devils to fourth place with 12 points.

Slovenian forward Nets Gradisar gave Al Ahly the dream start in the third minute with a rocket strike. The home fans were silenced briefly as Mohamed Hamdy Zaki equalized in the eighth minute. Al Ahly pushed forward and were rewarded on the stroke of halftime when Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet calmly slotted home a penalty.

The Guards refused to give in and leveled again in the 53rd minute when Taher Mohamed Taher turned the ball into his own net. The match turned nervy, with both teams missing chances and goalkeepers standing tall.

Al Ahly’s persistence paid off in the 79th minute as Yasser Ibrahim pounced to score the decisive goal, sending their fans into celebration. Marwan Attia’s commanding midfield display earned him the Man of the Match award.
