Al Ahly edge closer to full squad as key stars near return
Al Ahly have received a welcome boost as two of their important midfielders move closer to making a comeback.
The club confirmed that Emam Ashour is just a few days away from rejoining full training after completing his rehabilitation program. He had been sidelined following collarbone surgery, an injury suffered in the Club World Cup opener against Inter Miami.
A club source told Kooora that Ashour has fully recovered and recently focused on strengthening his collarbone, paving the way for his gradual return to group sessions.
The same source revealed that Marwan Attia has also taken a positive step, beginning light jogging around the pitch after undergoing hernia surgery. He is expected to be back in training within a week, helping the team recover from a recent injury crisis.
Meanwhile, Hussein El Shahat, Ahmed Abdel Qader, Mohamed Seha, Ahmed Ramadan Beckham, and Omar Kamal Abdel Wahed were left out of today’s match against Modern Sport for technical reasons.
Al Ahly’s depth is set to improve just as the season enters a crucial stage.
