Former Al Ahly forward Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim, widely known as “Kahraba,” has outlined his plans following the termination of his contract with his Kuwaiti club and amid interest from several Egyptian and Arab teams.
In a recent television interview, Kahraba emphasized his desire to return to Al Ahly, describing the club as his “home.”
He said: “I have received offers from clubs in Egypt, Iraq, and the UAE, and I am carefully considering them. My first and lasting loyalty is to Al Ahly. I am open to gaining experience outside Egypt, but if that doesn’t work out, I have no problem returning to play in the Egyptian league.”
Kahraba made it clear that, while he respects all clubs, Zamalek remains off the table. “Zamalek is a big club, and I respect it, but it would be difficult for me to play there. So far, there have been no official contacts with Al Ahly regarding a return,” he added.
The striker stressed that his immediate priority is regular playing time rather than financial gain.
“I want to come back stronger and more consistent. Playing regularly is my focus, and I feel ready. I enjoy representing popular clubs and believe it’s the best decision for my career,” Kahraba said.
Reflecting on his personal growth, he added: “Al Ahly could benefit from my return, both technically and in other ways. I’ve matured a lot, become calmer, and I’m less focused on appearances or going out.”
Kahraba also spoke about his teammates, noting: “I spoke with Emam Ashour—he has accepted his punishment and is training individually, focusing on returning in top form to reconcile with Al Ahly fans. Ahmed Fatouh is a close friend and a dear brother. On a personal note, I plan to get married soon once I finalize my next destination.”
