Al Ahly are considering making formal contact with French club FC Nantes for the signing of Egyptian attacker Mostafa Mohamed.
According to sources, Al Ahly are interested in bidding for the forward this summer, to secure his services to bolster their squad ahead of the 2025/26 football season.
Mostafa Mohamed is reportedly open to a move away from the French side, especially following a reported fallout with the club.
The Egyptian international joined Nantes from Turkish outfit Galatasaray in 2021 and has since continued to build his career in Europe.
However, with Al Ahly showing strong interest and the possibility of a fresh chapter back home, a deal could be in the offing.
Al Ahly’s pursuit of Mohamed also comes amid growing uncertainty surrounding the future of Palestinian striker Wissam Abu Ali, who is attracting interest from clubs including Al Rayyan (Qatar), Al Wasl (UAE), and a side from the United States.
Should the move go through, Mostafa Mohamed would become the latest ex-Zamalek player to switch to Al Ahly, following in the footsteps of Ahmed Sayed “Zizo,” who joined the Red Castle earlier this summer after his contract with the White Castle expired.
For now, Al Ahly officials are keeping a close eye on Mostafa and will pounce once Wissam Abu Ali makes his decision on his future.
