Al Ahly confirm Monsef Bakrar’s arrival date for Spain training camp

Al Ahly have confirmed that Algeria forward Monsef Bakrar will join their training camp in Spain on Sunday evening, 9 August 2026, as the club continues preparations for the new season.

The club announced that Bakrar will travel to Spain and begin work with the rest of the squad later on Sunday. His arrival follows a short period of rest after he signed for Al Ahly.

Bakrar will now link up with his new team-mates as Al Ahly’s preparations move into their overseas phase. The club’s decision to confirm the timing of his arrival ends uncertainty over when the Algeria international would begin training with the squad following his move.

The Spain camp will include three friendly matches. Al Ahly are scheduled to face Spanish clubs Badalona and Sabadell during their stay, giving the squad an opportunity to step up its preparations for the forthcoming campaign.

Al Ahly will finish the camp with a meeting against Barcelona on 19 August. That match will be played as part of the Joan Gamper Trophy, which will provide the final fixture of the club’s schedule in Spain.

Bakrar’s inclusion in the camp means he will join Al Ahly’s preparations after completing the initial rest period granted to him following his signing. He is expected to take part in the team’s training programme before the friendly matches begin.

The club’s announcement was made on Sunday, 9 August 2026, with Bakrar’s arrival set for the evening. His integration into the squad will form part of Al Ahly’s work as they build towards the new season.

Al Ahly’s schedule in Spain therefore combines three friendly fixtures with a final appearance against Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Trophy. Badalona and Sabadell are the other named opponents for the camp, while the Barcelona match is set for 19 August.

Bakrar had previously been allowed time away from training after completing his move to Al Ahly. The Algerian will now report to the club’s Spain camp and begin preparations alongside the squad under the team’s pre-season programme.
