Al Ahly coach Jose Riveiro has made it clear that his team is fully focused as they prepare for a tough test against Brazilian giants Palmeiras in the second round of the Club World Cup on Thursday.
The Spanish tactician praised Palmeiras as one of the strongest teams in the tournament and warned that their stability and experience under their current manager will make the contest extremely challenging.
“Palmeiras is considered one of the best teams in the World Cup and is stable under the leadership of his current coach, who has played many games with them over the past seasons. Palmeiras is experienced, he has played many strong matches and has played a special level against Porto,” Riveiro said.
He also highlighted Ahmed Mostafa Zizo’s strong showing against Inter Miami and insisted that the missed penalty by Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet is now behind them.
“There are players with high individual skills in Palmeiras, who must be dealt with well and try to keep them as far away from dangerous areas as possible,” he concluded.
