Al-Ahly coach calls up Morocco’s Achraf Dari for crucial Orlando Pirates clash
Moroccan defender Achraf Dari has been included in the Al-Ahly squad for their upcoming CAF Champions League Group Stage clash against South Africa’s Orlando Pirates.
The match is set to take place this Saturday, marking a significant return for Dari after a prolonged absence due to injury.
Dari had been sidelined since sustaining an ankle injury during his duties with the Moroccan national team.
The recovery process proved lengthy, with the Al-Ahly medical staff prioritizing a cautious approach to ensure his full fitness before returning to the pitch.
Having undergone intensive treatment, the center-back is now poised to make his comeback.
His inclusion in the squad is seen as a boost for Al-Ahly as they prepare for the critical second-round encounter in the group stage.
Joining Dari in the squad are fellow Moroccan internationals Yahya Attiat-Allah and Reda Selim, further highlighting the club’s reliance on its North African contingent to bolster their continental campaign.
Head coach Marcel Koller announced the squad earlier this week, signaling confidence in Dari’s readiness to rejoin the team.
With Al-Ahly aiming for a strong performance against the Orlando Pirates, the Swiss tactician will be hoping that the defender’s return adds stability and depth to the backline.
Saturday’s match carries high stakes as Al-Ahly seeks to solidify its position in the group and build momentum in the competition.
Fans eagerly await Dari’s return, with expectations high for the defender to make an immediate impact.
