As Al Ahly sharpen preparations for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, veteran midfielder Amr Mohamed Eid El Solia remains a key focus for the club’s leadership.
Despite uncertainty surrounding his contract extension, the experienced playmaker has made the initial squad submitted to FIFA at the end of March, signaling his continued importance in Al Ahly’s plans.
The 34-year-old, whose contract ends in the summer of 2025, is yet to renew terms with the Egyptian giants. Still, his standing within the team remains strong, and club officials reportedly hold him in high regard.
“Amr Mohamed Eid El Solia was included in the initial list that Al-Ahly sent at the end of March,” the source said.
“Amr Mohamed Eid El Solia’s contract expires in the summer of 2025 and his renewal has not yet been finalised, but the player is valued and respected by the board of directors.”
“Mohamed Youssef, the sporting director, is preparing to discuss the fate of Amr Mohamed Eid El Solia with the planning committee in the coming period.”
Al Ahly will face Inter Miami, Porto, and Palmeiras in Group A.
