Al Ahly has moved swiftly to address talk around midfielders Marwan Attia and Emam Ashour, aiming to keep focus on the pitch rather than off-field distractions.

A source inside the club explained that speculation about Attia’s future is misplaced. The midfielder had requested another contract adjustment, citing his importance and regular involvement, but the board declined. The source reminded that his deal was already revised last year and extends for the next three seasons.

“Marwan’s contract was amended last year, extending for the next three years. Any talk of his departure or any offers must be made through the club’s official channels,” the source told Kooora.

Attention also turned to Emam Ashour following remarks from his agent, Adam Watani, who claimed Al Ahly blocks players from moving to bigger clubs. The source dismissed the claims and pointed to Ashour’s ongoing health challenges.

“We will not respond to press reports, social media posts, or even player agents,” the source added.
