Al Ahly are on the verge of finalizing the signing of Pharco defender Yassin Marei as they ramp up their squad reinforcement plans this summer.
The Cairo giants are moving quickly to address gaps in their squad that became clear during the recent Club World Cup campaign. Strengthening the defense has become a key priority, and Al Ahly are wasting no time.
“There is a preliminary agreement to contract with Yassin Marei and his club, and only a few small frills remain to officially announce the inclusion of the player,” a source at Al Ahly told Kooora.
In addition to Marei, the club is also actively searching for a right-back, a left-back, and a home-based striker to bolster their ranks before the new season begins.
The team is currently preparing for their next test—a crucial clash against Porto early Tuesday in the final match of the Club World Cup group stage. The outcome could shape their momentum going forward.
