Al Ahly close to renewing Mohamed Hany’s contract on first-team terms

Al Ahly are close to extending the contract of right-back Mohamed Hany, with the player set to remain at the club for a longer period.

According to FilGoal.com, Hany is expected to receive a first-category salary worth 25m Egyptian pounds under the proposed agreement. The contract would also include a further 10m Egyptian pounds in incentives linked to winning trophies with Al Ahly.

The financial package would give Hany 70% of the value of any advertising contract, while the agreement would also contain a participation-percentage clause. No release clause would be included.

If completed, the renewal would make Hany the fifth Al Ahly player to extend his contract during the current period. He would follow Emam Ashour, Marwan Attia, Omar Sayed Moawad and Mostafa Shobeir in committing his future to the club.

The proposed terms underline the position Hany has established within Al Ahly, with the club moving to retain him for a longer spell. His renewal is being handled alongside those of several other players, with the right-back now close to reaching an agreement.

Hany is currently in his 12th season with Al Ahly. He was promoted to the club’s first team during the 2014/15 season and has remained part of the senior squad since then.

The contract details being discussed include both guaranteed earnings and performance-related payments. The 25m Egyptian pounds would represent his salary as a first-category player, while the additional 10m would depend on Al Ahly winning competitions. His proposed share of advertising income would stand separately at 70%.

The participation clause is also included in the reported terms, although no further details about its operation have been provided. The agreement would not give the player a fixed buy-out option, with no release clause set to appear in the contract.

Hany’s possible extension therefore forms part of a wider sequence of renewals at Al Ahly. Ashour, Attia, Sayed Moawad and Shobeir have already renewed their contracts, and Hany would become the next player to do so if the discussions are completed.

His time with the first team began after his promotion in the 2014/15 campaign. The current season is his 12th as an Al Ahly senior player, and the club’s latest negotiations are aimed at ensuring he stays with the team beyond the existing arrangement.
