Al Ahly have moved quickly to quash rumors surrounding winger Ahmed Abdelkader, following claims of internal punishment and a potential switch to rivals Zamalek.
A source from the club’s football department confirmed Abdelkader has not faced any fines and continues to train regularly.
“Although Abdelkader is not part of the team’s WhatsApp group, he trains at the gym every day and is punctual,” the source told Kooora.
The insider explained that the player is set to gradually rejoin full training and is not banned from team activities, contrary to speculation.
There’s also word from the player’s agent suggesting an offer could be tabled soon to facilitate a summer exit. However, with Egypt’s domestic transfer window officially shut on Wednesday, a move to Zamalek is no longer on the cards.
Al Ahly remain focused on the Egyptian Premier League opener this Saturday against Modern Sport, and club officials appear keen to keep any off-field distractions in check as the season begins.
