Al-Ahly clarifies rumors on friendly match against Real Madrid
Tariq Qandil, a member of Al-Ahly’s board of directors, has dismissed recent rumors about a possible friendly match between the Egyptian giants and Spanish champions Real Madrid, stating that no such game has been planned.
His comments, made during a radio interview, come after speculation circulated about a high-profile fixture between the two clubs.
“What has been said about an upcoming friendly match between Al-Ahly and Real Madrid is untrue,” Qandil clarified.
“If such a game is arranged, it will be officially announced by the club.”
Qandil emphasized the strong relationship between Al-Ahly’s administration and its loyal fanbase, who he described as the “true backbone of the club.”
He added, “We, the board of Al-Ahly, are first and foremost supporters of this club.
We would never do anything to upset our fans. Their unwavering support is invaluable to us.”
Al-Ahly’s Resurgence Following African Super Cup Loss
Reflecting on Al-Ahly’s performance, Qandil noted the team’s ability to regain its form after a recent loss to Zamalek in the African Super Cup.
“Losing to Zamalek was a setback, but Al-Ahly quickly regained its balance.
The club has a structured system in place, from the board down to the players, that keeps everyone focused,” he said.
“This discipline is what sets Al-Ahly apart. Even in challenging times, there is always a solution within our system.”
Qandil attributed the club’s success to a culture of unity and dedication. “Al-Ahly’s triumphs are driven by everyone’s love and loyalty for the club.
We follow set regulations and have clear responses to any misstep,” he explained.
Message to Al-Ahly’s Fans
In his concluding remarks, Qandil praised Al-Ahly supporters, especially for their fervent presence during the recent Intercontinental Championship match against Al-Ain from the UAE, in which Al-Ahly claimed a resounding 3-0 victory.
“Congratulations to our fans, who presented a magnificent image in front of the UAE audience.
I remain optimistic about Al-Ahly’s future, especially in challenging times that demand resilience.”
The club’s recent victory over Al-Ain has added to Al-Ahly’s growing reputation on the international stage, with fans eagerly awaiting more success for Egypt’s iconic football team.
