Al Ahly begin Uganda preparations ahead of Kitara Confederation Cup tie

Al Ahly have begun their preparations in Uganda for Saturday’s CAF Confederation Cup round-of-32 first leg against Kitara.

The match will be played in the city of Hoima, with the Ugandan side hosting Al Ahly at Hoima International Stadium.

Al Ahly’s first training session in Uganda took place at 17:00 Cairo time at the same venue. The opening part of the session focused on physical work designed to reduce fatigue before the players moved on to more specialised exercises ahead of the match.

The match will be broadcast on On Sport. Al Ahly’s return leg in Egypt will be shown exclusively by Al Ahly TV.

The winner of the tie will qualify directly for the group stage of the competition.

Al Ahly go into the fixture after beating Zamalek 2-0 in the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League.

They are competing in the CAF Confederation Cup after finishing third in last season’s league campaign.
