The Egyptian Premier League returns this weekend with ten fixtures spread across three days, headlined by defending champions Al Ahly’s opening clash against Modern Sport.
Al Ahly, chasing yet another domestic crown, will start their 2025-26 campaign away from home on Saturday, 9 August, in a match scheduled for 18:00 GMT.
While the Cairo giants enter as favourites, the fixture promises to be competitive — each side has claimed a win in their past two encounters.
The season curtain-raiser begins on Friday, 8 August, with Pyramids FC travelling to Wadi Degla for the first kick-off of the campaign at 15:00 GMT.
Later that evening, two 18:00 GMT fixtures will take place: Al Masry host Al Ittihad, while Zamalek face Ceramica Cleopatra.
Both matches are expected to draw considerable attention, with Zamalek eager to mount a strong start after an inconsistent previous season.
Saturday’s programme offers a mix of early and late kick-offs.
Smouha meet El Gaish at 15:00 GMT, as do Arab Contractors and ZED in another simultaneous fixture.
At 18:00 GMT, Ismaily will host Petrojet, while all eyes will turn to Modern Sport’s home ground for the headline meeting with Al Ahly.
The opening round concludes on Sunday, 10 August, with three fixtures.
Kahrabaa Ismailia welcome El Gounah at 15:00 GMT, while two evening games at 18:00 GMT will see Pharco take on Enppi and National Bank Egypt face Ghazl El Mahallah.
