Al Ahly beaten 1-0 by Ahly Benghazi in friendly match

Al Ahly were defeated 1-0 by Libyan side Ahly Benghazi in a friendly match, with the only goal scored by a header from a free-kick delivery.

The effort found the net past goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir after Ahly Benghazi sent a cross into the penalty area.

Imam Ashour, Achraf Dari, Tawfik Mohamed, Karim El Debes and Akram Tawfik all featured for Al Ahly.

The match came after Al Ahly drew 1-1 with El Mokawloon El Arab in the fourth round of the Egyptian Premier League last Wednesday.

That result represented Al Ahly’s first setback of the league season. They took one point from the game to move to 10 points, level with Zamalek.

El Mokawloon El Arab moved to four points and are 13th in the table.

The results also left Pyramids as the division’s outright leaders on 12 points.
