Al Ahly have stood firmly behind midfielder Emam Ashour after speculation grew over his appearance at a Ragheb Alama concert.
The club made it clear there would be no punishment, emphasizing Ashour’s professionalism and proper conduct.
While social media buzzed with comparisons between Ashour and Zamalek’s Ahmed Fattouh, who faced backlash for attending the same concert after skipping his club’s training camp, Al Ahly insisted their player did nothing wrong.
“Emam Ashour is currently out of the camp and is still in the healing phase of his collarbone fracture,” a club official told Kooora.
The source clarified that Ashour had full approval from the club to spend time with his family on the North Coast, where he continues his gym-based rehab routine.
“Emam lives his life normally as a normal person. His appearance at an artistic event was in a public and announced location. He did not commit any behavioral violations or appear in an inappropriate manner, and therefore no penalty will be imposed on him,” the source added.
With this, Al Ahly dismissed all talk of misconduct, describing Ashour’s conduct as fitting for a player of their badge, calm, responsible, and in line with club values.
