Al Ahly attacker Emam Ashour steps up rehabilitation in Spain ahead of new season
Al Ahly midfielder Imam Ashour is continuing his rehabilitation programme at the club’s ongoing training camp in Spain as he works his way back to full fitness ahead of the new season.
Ashour has yet to join his teammates in full group training after being sidelined by an injury.
The Egypt international is currently following a specialised programme designed by Al Ahly’s medical team to ensure his recovery progresses safely.
The midfielder has so far been limited to physical and rehabilitation exercises inside the gym, with the medical staff carefully monitoring his condition.
The programme is expected to be adjusted gradually as Ashour responds to treatment and regains his fitness.
Al Ahly are keen to avoid rushing the player back into group training, with the medical team prioritising his complete recovery over an early return. Any setback at this stage could prolong his absence and affect his readiness for the start of the competitive season.
Ashour’s rehabilitation forms part of Al Ahly’s preparations at their overseas camp in Spain, where the squad are undergoing intensive physical and technical sessions under the coaching staff.
The camp also includes a series of friendly matches as the Egyptian giants seek to build match fitness and tactical cohesion before the new campaign begins.
The 27-year-old remains an important figure in Al Ahly’s squad, and his availability will be closely monitored by both the technical and medical departments.
The club are hopeful that he will be able to resume group training once he has reached the required level of fitness.
For now, Ashour’s return will depend on his progress through the rehabilitation programme, with Al Ahly determined to ensure he is fully recovered before clearing him to participate in competitive action.
