Al Ahly and Zamalek in same path after Egypt Cup round 32 draw

Al Ahly and Zamalek have been placed on the same path following the draw for the 2026/27 Egypt Cup, setting up the possibility of a blockbuster meeting between the two Egyptian giants as the competition progresses.

The Round of 32 draw has produced several intriguing fixtures, with defending champions Pyramids FC also discovering their potential route as they seek to retain the trophy.

Pyramids, who won last season’s competition after defeating ZED FC in the final, will face the winner of the preliminary-round tie between El Dakhleya and Tersana.

Zamalek will take on the winner of the match between Misr Insurance and Pharco, while Al Ahly will meet either Al-Nasr or Al-Sekka Al-Hadid.

Elsewhere, ZED FC will face the winner of the tie between Samannoud and Baladeyet El Mahalla, while Egyptian Premier League side Al Masry have been paired with Misr El Maqasa.

The draw ceremony was conducted by Wael Riad, technical director of Egypt’s youth national team, and Abdel Sattar Sabri, head coach of the Egypt national team for players born in 2010, as preparations continue for the start of the country’s premier cup competition.
