Al-Ahli fixture with Al-Khaleej delayed because of travel disruption

Al-Ahli’s Roshn Saudi League match against Al-Khaleej, scheduled for Thursday evening, has been postponed.

The game was due to take place at Alinma Stadium as part of the competition’s 11th round, with Al-Ahli set to host Al-Khaleej. However, Al-Ahli confirmed the fixture would not go ahead as planned.

In a statement published on the club’s official website on Thursday, Al-Ahli said the Roshn Saudi League Association had decided to postpone the match. A new date will be announced later.

The club did not give a reason for the decision or indicate when the rearranged game would be played.

However, previous media reports provided further details. Saudi journalist Sami Al-Qadi reported that the postponement was linked to flight disruption, which prevented Al-Khaleej from leaving Dammam airport for Jeddah.

The match is expected to be played on Friday at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports City Stadium, with Al-Ittihad’s fixture against Al-Diriyah taking place at Alinma Stadium.

If that arrangement goes ahead, four matches involving major clubs will be played in the Roshn Saudi League on Friday as part of the same round.

Alongside Al-Ahli’s meeting with Al-Khaleej and Al-Ittihad’s match against Al-Diriyah, Al-Nassr will face Al-Faisaly and Al-Hilal will play Al-Qadsiah.
