Akor Adams: Venezia sign Nigeria striker from Sevilla in €16m deal

Venezia have signed Nigeria forward Akor Adams from Sevilla in a €16m permanent transfer. The 26-year-old centre-forward has agreed a contract with the Serie A club until 30 June 2030.

Adams leaves Sevilla after a year and a half in Spain, where he scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 36 La Liga appearances. Standing at 1.90m and operating primarily as a central striker, he adds a physical presence and top-flight experience to Venezia’s attack.

The move to Italy continues a rapid rise for Adams, whose market value has climbed to €15m following productive spells in Norway, France and Spain. Before joining Sevilla in January 2025, he played in Ligue 1 with Montpellier, having arrived there from Norwegian side Lillestrøm in August 2023.

Adams first came to prominence in Norway, where strong goalscoring returns in the Eliteserien and second tier with Sogndal and Lillestrøm earned him his move to France. Across league and cup competitions in Norway, France and Spain, he has accumulated more than 190 senior appearances, scoring regularly in each country and featuring in European qualifying rounds.

The right-footed striker now becomes one of Venezia’s most valuable assets as they prepare for the new Serie A campaign, with his long-term deal tying him to the club for the next four seasons.
