Akim Djibril: Italy-Togo midfielder joins Seravezza Pozzi on free transfer from Cittadella
Italy-Togo defensive midfielder Akim Djibril has joined Seravezza Pozzi on a free transfer from Cittadella. The 20-year-old moves to the Serie D side after leaving the Veneto club, where he progressed from the youth set-up into the first team.
Djibril, who stands at 1.67m and plays predominantly as a holding midfielder, makes the switch to Seravezza Pozzi having most recently been on the books of Cittadella, with whom he made his Serie B debut. His transfer is a permanent move, completed without a fee.
Born in January 2006 and eligible for both Italy and Togo, Djibril came through several youth systems before breaking into senior football. He spent his early academy years at Vicenza and Inter, moving from Inter’s youth ranks into Cittadella’s set-up in 2023, initially joining their Under-17 side on a free transfer.
Djibril advanced quickly at Cittadella, stepping up from the Under-17s to the Under-19s and then into the first-team squad in 2024. He gained experience in Serie B, Serie D and the Coppa competitions, featuring across Italy’s professional and youth structures. At youth level, he accumulated more than 50 appearances in national Under‐17 and Primavera competitions, adding goals and assists from deep midfield.
A right-footed player whose most recent estimated market value stood at €75,000, Djibril also had a loan spell with Bassano in Serie D during the 2025-26 season before returning to Cittadella. His move to Seravezza Pozzi is registered for the 2026-27 campaign as a free transfer from the Serie C club.
