Ajax have announced the signing of Nigerian international striker Tolu Arokodare from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 25-year-old attacker joins the Dutch giants on a season-long loan with an option to make the deal permanent in a fee worth £17 million

Arokodare will spend the entire season in Amsterdam as he looks to continue his development and make an impact at one of Europe’s most historic clubs.

“Ajax have reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers regarding the loan signing of Tolu Arokodare. The 25-year-old striker joins Ajax on a one-season loan deal until the summer of 2027. The agreement includes an option to buy for Ajax. Welcome to the club, Tolu!” the club stated.

Arokodare joins Ajax after making his mark at Wolves, where his physical presence, finishing ability and attacking movement attracted attention. The Nigerian forward is expected to provide additional firepower for Ajax as the club looks to challenge domestically and compete on the European stage.

For the Super Eagles striker, the move represents an opportunity to play regular football at a club renowned for developing attacking talents while competing in one of Europe’s traditional football leagues.

Ajax will now hope Arokodare can reproduce his goalscoring form in Amsterdam and potentially become a long-term asset as they continue rebuilding their squad for future success.
